That’s kind of a funny title since it’s summer here most of the year: summer, Summer and then SUMMER.
It’s been a crazy day today, so no sewing. I’ll try to get some more work done on the blouse tomorrow night. All I have left is the neckline casing and the bottom hem – about an hour’s work.
I realized I hadn’t posted about some new fabrics I bought recently – before I went on vacation. These came from Gorgeous Fabrics. The first is a really nice cotton jacquard. The dots are kind of frayed around the edges. I think I got the last of this one. It will become some sort of blouse or shirt.

This one is a cotton eyelet with appliqued, embroidered and beaded flowers. I absolutely love it! I know it looks a little rumpled – I just pulled it out of the dryer and it needs pressing. Because this is so girly, I am going to make a very simple classic shirt out of it.

Of course, I could not resist the Vera Wang Lavendar blowout at Fabric.com and finally bought this silk organza along with two more pieces of the VWL knit (charcoal and navy). I tried to get the matching Scribble charmeuse but sat on the fence too long.

Last, but not least, I received my tortoise-shell snaps from Pacific Trimmings yesterday! When Lindsay posted a photo of them last week I knew I had to have them. They are even more beautiful in person. These are smallish, perfect for a cardigan. I may order some larger ones for a jacket. Pacific is one of my favorite shops in NYC – they have awesome stuff!
